Their products are no big deal, and that’s the point.

No Big Deal Gear makes durable, thoughtfully designed products for vehicle-based outdoor adventures. Their philosophy is right there in the name: gear that does its job without overcomplicating things. The brand needed to match that energy.

The challenge

The goal was to create a visual identity that felt high-energy and approachable without drifting into the overly aggressive aesthetic that dominates the overlanding market. NBD Gear wanted to stand out by being the brand that takes the product seriously and itself less so.

Information

I developed a brand system built around bold typography, a playful but confident color palette, and a set of graphic elements including badges, icons, and patterns that could flex across packaging, apparel, stickers, and digital content. The identity needed to work at small scale on a pin and at large scale on a hoodie, so versatility was a priority from the start.

The result is a brand that feels fun and energetic while still communicating quality. It reads well in a crowded market and gives NBD Gear a foundation they can extend into new product lines, packaging, and campaigns as the business grows.
